  • This book is based on the theoretical research and practical application of the National Teaching Achievement Grand Award. It consists of fourteen chapters. Firstly, it elaborates on the international brand, national action of China’s vocational education, and the sharing of China’s vocational education culture and solutions with the world. It then extends to the project construction, brand value, construction principles, core essence, and typical cases of the Luban Workshop. Furthermore, it covers project layout and promotion research, project management and policy guarantees, project development and strategic thinking, and project construction and multilateral mechanism. Finally, through the grand prize of National Teaching Achievement Award, concluding with “real” and “solid” footprints of the Luban Workshop, it deconstructs, decodes, analyses and interprets the Luban Workshop, aiming to present the readers an authentic and complete “Luban Workshop”.
    
    The theme of this book has been included in the “Major Project List for Chinese Culture Going Global”. This book is one of the achievements of Luban Workshop International Development Research Center of Tianjin university think tank. It can serve as a reference for experts and scholars in vocational education, and colleagues in vocational institutions, and can also be used for people-to-people exchanges and international educational cooperation between China and other countries, especially for those engaged in the construction and research of the Luban Workshop projects.
  • The Luban Workshop belongs to Tianjin, to China, and to the whole world as well. It is an international brand of China’s vocational education established through practical exploration, theoretical research, experience summation, and model promotion. In 2014, the practical application achievements of EPIP won the first grand prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award in the field of vocational education in China, laying a solid foundation for the innovative practice of the Luban Workshop. In 2022, the innovative practice achievements of the establishment of the EPIP model and the creation of the Luban Workshop brand won the grand prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award.
    
    In 2016, the first “Luban Workshop” in the world was inaugurated in Thailand, followed by the first one in Europe and the first one in
    
    Africa. China shared its vocational education model, standards, equipment, and teaching ma-terials with the world, and established entity in-stitutions overseas—the Luban Workshops— to carry out academic education and technical training. The Luban Workshop aims to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talent urgently needed for the economic and social develop-ment of partner countries, serving the Belt and Road Initiative, international production capacity cooperation and the building of a global community of shared future.
    
    Chinese President Xi Jinping has made 24 im-portant instructions and statements on “Luban Workshop” on major diplomatic occasions. The Luban Workshop has become a major national ac-tion and a major cooperation project led by the head-of-state diplomacy. The Luban Workshop represents the “general framework“ of China’s vo-cational education in pursuit of internationalization, branding, and systematization in external coopera-tion. It is also a “concrete project” meticulously crafted for the international integration of industry and education.
    
    The author of this book is the main creator of the Luban Workshop brand. In order to offer the readers a better comprehension of the Luban Workshop, this book deconstructs and deciphers the Luban Workshop by analyzing and interpreting it from the perspective of international branding, national action, vocational education culture, and vocational education solutions. It provides a multi-dimensional, situational, on-site, and epic “inter-pretation” of the project construction, brand value, core essence, typical cases, layout promotion, pol-icy guarantees, and development strategies of the Luban Workshop, aiming to present an authentic and complete “Luban Workshop” to readers.
    
    The theme of this book has been included in the “Major Project List for Chinese Culture Going Global”.
